Hi, I'm Van Tran Viet from Hanoi Viet Nam
Viet Van Tran was born in 1971 in Ha Noi, Vietnam, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Studies from Ha Noi Cultural University in 1996. Upon graduating, he began a career in journalism. Most recently, he is a special reporter for the Lao Dong newspaper in Vietnam.
He has had 10 solo exhibitions, including “My Mum” at the Photometria Festival (Greece), and has participated in over 85 group exhibitions across Asia, Europe, and the USA. These include “Fifth Exposure Annual Awards” at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France (digital). He has also won over 100 international photography prizes, such as Px3 (France), IPA, Master Cup, Art of Photography Show (USA), MIFA (Russia), TIFA (Japan), ND Awards, Travel Photographer of the Year, Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year, Pollux Annual Award (UK), etc.
He has published 9 books, notably the photo book “Dharma and Life,” which was sponsored by the EU.
Throughout his career, he has served as a judge for “National Art Photography” and “National Press Photography” competitions in still photography, as well as for the Vietnam Film Festival, recognizing excellence in cinema.
He has been personally interviewed by Actu Photo Magazine and Private Photo Review (France), Goddessarts (German), Talent House (US), and Photoword.bg (Bulgaria). Additionally, he has been featured in nearly 450 Vietnamese newspaper articles and has been the subject of numerous interviews on Vietnamese cultural and arts programs on Vietnamese television.
His pictures have been published in numerous books and magazines, including Peace Book Vol.1 (London, England), “Art in Time of Corona Vol.2” (Los Angeles, USA), Photo Art Magazine (Noname Collective, England), Goddessarts (Germany), International Portrait Photographer of the Year (2023, 2022 - Australia), Mythography Vol.1, Vol. 2, Vol.3, Vol.4, Vol.5 (2025, 2024, 2023, 2022, 2021, Italy), Urban Unveil Vol.1, 2, 3, 4 (Italy), Journal (US), Photo (France), Silvershotz (Australia), Dodho (Spain), Getinspired (Netherlands), F-Stop (US), No Name Collective Art Magazine (UK), etc. Several of his images have also been featured in the Saatchi Collection under categories such as Contemporary Photography and Faces.

His debut film "My Mother" has been recognized with several awards and selections, including:
Best Short Documentary and Best First-Time Director, Short Documentary at the Cine Paris Film Festival in May 2025. Winner in the “Best shot documentary” category at the Indian Independent Film Festival in July/August 2025. Winner in the "Family/Children" category at the Caravan International Film Festival (India, 15th season). Winner in the "Family/Children" category and Bangkok Society Film Critic’s Award for Documentary category at Bangkok Movie Awards in July 2025. Honorable Mention for Documentary film at Budapest Film Festival.
