Robert Matthews is a Perth-based photographer whose practice spans more than fifty years. His work explores perception, memory and the ambiguities of everyday life, often blurring the boundary between documentation and interpretation. Working in both monochrome and colour, he is particularly interested in the relationships between people, architecture and light, and in photographs that reveal something beyond the immediately visible.
