Hi, I'm Paola De Gregorio from London Italy
Photography is my journey — capturing raw moments, true emotions, and the soul of life.
As a candid photographer, I focus on capturing authentic, unscripted moments that reflect the raw essence of life. I have always been drawn to dynamic, bustling environments where people are naturally absorbed in their surroundings. These vibrant settings allowed me to blend in, enabling me to document genuine emotions and fleeting interactions without the constraints of posed perfection.
This passion has now transformed into an internal journey documenting the rich human aspect of social identities. Through my lens, I seek to capture the essence of communities, traditions, and the evolving narratives that shape our collective identity. This journey is also a personal reconnection with our origins, exploring the roots that define who we are and the cultural legacies that continue to inspire.
Through my work, I explore the delicate balance between humanity and nature, rediscovering our roots in contrast with the rapid advancements of technology. In a world increasingly disconnected, my photography seeks to deepen human reconnection, inviting viewers to engage with the timeless essence of the natural world.
Through ongoing research and constructive feedback, I’ve refined my style into one that values simplicity and truth. I embrace a minimalist approach, disregarding post-processing in favour of letting the moment speak for itself. To me, if an image requires manipulation, it wasn't fully realised in the first place.
Using old cameras passed down from my father, for me, photography is more than a technical craft—it’s a journey that helps me to find a balance through true emotions, and discover the soul of life.
