Hi, I'm helena georgiou from Nicosia Cyprus

I am an award-winning photographer whose work is defined by a refined visual language and a deep engagement with culture, memory, and the human experience. My artistic foundation was shaped through studies in Interior Design, History of Architecture, and Photography, followed by a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and History (BA) and a Master’s degree in Heritage Management (MA), which continue to inform and deepen my visual practice.

At the core of my work lies storytelling. I am drawn to the quiet, often overlooked moments seeking to reveal the extraordinary within the everyday. Through a balance of sensitivity and precision, I create images that carry a sense of stillness, emotional depth, and subtle tension.
My practice moves fluidly across street and documentary photography, portraiture, conceptual work, and landscape. Regardless of subject, my images remain connected by atmosphere, minimalism, and a strong sense of human presence.

In recent years, I have expanded my work to include digital image manipulation and artificial intelligence, not as an end in itself, but as a natural extension of my visual language. These tools allow me to explore new dimensions of storytelling while remaining grounded in a clear artistic and conceptual direction.

My work has received international recognition, including Photographer of the Year at the Wild Filmmaker Awards (2024), along with multiple distinctions from the European Parliament for its artistic and social engagement. I have also been a finalist in the Sony World Photography Awards (National & Regional categories) in 2023, 2024, and 2025.

My photographs have been exhibited internationally, including at the Xposure International Photography Festival in Sharjah (2025) the largest photography festival in the world as well as at the European Parliament in Brussels and Strasbourg, and at Somerset House in London as part of the Sony World Photography Awards exhibitions.

Driven by curiosity and a deep commitment to my practice, I continue to explore the world through my lens, creating images that are both intimate and universal quiet reflections on identity, place, and the human condition.
