Hi, I'm Valerie Duran from Rio Rancho NM United States

Valerie Duran is a New Mexico–based photographer whose work focuses on documenting wild horses as they live, without interference or staging. Her photography is grounded in patience, observation, and respect for both the animals and the landscapes they inhabit. Although she is now formally building her professional career in wild horse photography, Valerie’s passion for photographing horses has been a constant throughout her life. Having owned nine horses over the years, she developed a deep understanding of equine behavior through time spent observing and photographing them.

While she has explored a variety of subjects, it is the wild mustangs of New Mexico that became the true heart of her work. Through continued time in the field, Valerie hopes to become recognized for her respectful and authentic photography of New Mexico’s wild horses.
