About Julia Serova
Yulia Serova, a photo artist working with mixed media
Born in 1984, the city of Nevyansk, Sverdlovsk region.
In 2007, graduated from the UrGPU, specialty "computer and design graphics".
In 2009, finished prof.course in "photo school Ilya Strokov."
In 2014, she opens her own photo studio In Nevyansk and from that moment on, experimental and creative shooting begins.
From 2021 to the present, she has been published in foreign magazines such as "MALVIE" France, "VIGOUR" Italy, "MARICA" New York, and "VOUS" USA, with a total of 84 publications.
In 2022, she was included in the SHORT list and nominated for the "Photographer of the Year Russia" award at the RussianPhotoAwards competition. In 2024, she was nominated again.
In 2022, the photoVOGUE website selected her works for publication on the magazine's website.
Since 2022, she has exclusively focused on "Nude" photography and explores the topic of behavioral psychology and the visual manifestation of certain character traits through visual code.
In 2025, she took a course in Art Analysis with artist Maria Azernaya. In February 2026, she completed a course in PVP (photo video practice) at the IVA (Institute of Visual Arts). In June 2026, she won the all-Russian photo contest PortfolioAward, taking 3rd place in the category of NUDE photography.
She currently lives and works in Yekaterinburg.
