About Franciszek Wasiewicz
Sport offers no second chance to capture the decisive moment. One try, one sprint to the finish line, one explosion of emotion after the final whistle—everything happens in a fraction of a second. That is why sports photography has become both my passion and my profession.
Since 2021, I have specialized in sports photography, with a primary focus on rugby. As the lead photographer for AZS AWF Warszawa Rugby, I document not only the matches themselves but also the story of the team, the emotions of the players, and the atmosphere that often goes unnoticed from the stands. These genuine, unscripted moments are what I value most.
Although rugby remains my main specialization, I also regularly photograph American football, athletics, and other sports. Each discipline presents new challenges, allowing me to continuously develop my skills and discover new ways of telling stories through photography.
I work with professional Canon equipment, using both Canon and Sigma lenses, while my entire post-processing workflow is carried out in Adobe Lightroom. Rather than aiming for a completely natural look, I deliberately give each photograph its own distinctive mood and character, enhancing the emotions and intensity of the moment. I believe that post-processing is not simply image correction—it is an essential part of visual storytelling that gives a photograph lasting impact.
My photographs have been published in *Przegląd Sportowy*, one of Poland's leading sports newspapers, as well as in *Foto-Kurier* magazine, in issues 1–2/2025, 6–7/2025, 8–9/2025, and 12/2025. My work has also been repeatedly recommended by the editors of *Foto-Kurier* as an example of photography distinguished by its technical quality and powerful storytelling.
The growth of my work has also been recognized through numerous awards in the international Top Photo Awards competition, including:

My greatest satisfaction, however, comes from knowing that my photographs continue to tell their stories long after the final whistle. They are published, used by clubs, athletes, and media outlets, and become lasting memories of some of the most important moments in sport. I believe that great photography does more than document an event—it allows people to experience it again.
Every sporting event tells a new story. My job is to capture it in a single frame.
