Hi, I'm Juleah Claar from Wädenswil Switzerland

I’m Leah, a freelance American photographer working in both digital and 35mm film. With a background in anthropology and project management, I spent a decade in the corporate world before returning to my creative roots.

After moving to Switzerland in 2016, I reignited my passion for photography — completing an advanced study program in Zurich and honing my focus on street photography and cultural traditions. These genres allow me to explore human culture in its most authentic form and find beauty in everyday life.

My work has been featured by over 160 social media and tourism platforms, exhibited in galleries, and recognized in global competitions — including being named the Winner of the 2025 ReFocus Awards ‘People's Vote Award’ in the Professional Black & White Street category, a 2025 Semi-Finalist in the Pure Street Photography Grant, and a Finalist in the 2023 Women Street Photographers Virtual Exhibition. I’ve won some pretty awesome contests, been published on several platforms, both digital and print, and even had a photo chosen for a drawing contest where it was interpreted by over 100 talented global artists!
