Hi, I'm Ella Kowalska from Paris France
Born in Poland, Ella Kowalska settled in France after living in the United States. There she trained as an art historian and a jurist. Holding both a Master's degree in Heritage History from the Sorbonne and a Master's degree in Law from Paris-Sud University, she has never ceased to work across disciplines and boundaries, convinced that improbable mixes are the most fruitful. She participated in the making of numerous short films before co-directing Sun, a feature-length film about multicultural Paris. In 2022, she decided to reorient herself toward photography and obtained a diploma from the Gobelins school in Paris. Particularly sensitive to the colors, materials, and sounds that give the world its texture, she constantly seeks to achieve the right balance between realism and fantasy. Driven by the desire to give an account of our times, she is on a quest for a form of "augmented reality" capable of telling our modernity. In 2024, she founded Street is a Woman – a collective of women street photographers in France.
