In Details & Textures: Photography Contest, we invite photographers to look closer and discover the visual beauty of textures, patterns, materials, surfaces, and details found all around us.
Any type of texture or detail is welcome. It may come from nature, food, architecture, industrial environments, everyday objects, fabrics, metals, wood, stone, glass, ceramics, machinery, plants, skin, water, ice, sand, or virtually anything that reveals an interesting surface, pattern, structure, or material.
From the delicate layers and textures of food to rusted industrial metal, weathered walls, cracked stone, wood grain, fabric fibers, peeling paint, tree bark, leaves, machinery, and unexpected everyday surfaces — textures are everywhere waiting to be discovered.
A simple detail can become an abstract composition, a study of color and form, or a visual record of time and transformation. Your photograph may be minimal and graphic, rich and tactile, natural or man-made, perfectly arranged or beautifully imperfect.
Macro and close-up photography are welcome, as well as wider compositions where detail, texture, pattern, material, or surface remains the dominant visual element.
Both color and black & white photographs are accepted.
